BRUNSKI, JOHN (1931-2015) It is with great sorrow that the family of John Brunski announce his peaceful passing at the Timmins and District Hospital on Friday, March 6, 2015 at the age of 83 years.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Anna (nee Purificati) and devoted daughter Joanna. He leaves his sister Mary Cummings , brother-in-law Fred Purificati (Norma) and sister-in-law Eda Chapman (late Brian), numerous nieces and nephews and honorary grandsons, Anthony, Matthew and Nicholas Sheculski. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Draga, sister Katie Brunski, and brother Anthony (Tony). John was born and raised in Huntsville, Ontario and moved to Brampton in his late teens to play Lacrosse and work for the Avro Aircraft plant in Malton. In 1958. he and his wife Anna moved to Timmins where he began his employment with United Supply. He joined Timmins Automotive at the company's inception as a salesman until his retirement in 1993. John forged many lasting relationships during his travels throughout the north to privately owned garages, and automotive, mining and lumber industries. He prized his many loyal friends from the Daily Coffee Club and their numerous social outings. John was famous for his "Open Garage" where many stories and good laughs were enjoyed. He was a member of the Timmins Kinsmen and K-40 clubs as well as a member of the Porcupine Dante Club and the Schumacher Croatian Hall. John and his wife delivered Red Cross Meals on Wheels for many years. The family would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff who attended to John and for the excellent and compassionate care he received during his stay at the Timmins and District Hospital. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Entombment will follow at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery followed by a reception at the Porcupine Dante Club. Remembrance donations to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation or the House of Kin would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the
