Obituary for Suzanne Vodusek ( Delorme)

Suzanne Vodusek ( Delorme)
Vodusek, Suzanne "Sue" (nee Delorme)
1946-2022
The family announces with great sorrow her passing on March 25, 2022 at the age of 76 years. Left to mourn are her husband of 55 years and love of her life, Joe Vodusek; her beloved children, Brenda and David (Rada Deletic); her dear grandchildren, Colin and Chloe Finnila and Julia and Olivia Vodusek; and, her sister, Jeannine Fleming. Sue is the dear sister-in-law of Claire Delorme and Anne Celinscak. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and good friends. She is predeceased by her parents, Maurice and Laurette Delorme, and her siblings, Ron Delorme, Normand Delorme, and Colette Huot.

Sue had a long career working at Bucovetsky’s Department Store, where she was the ladies wear and bridal manager for many years. She volunteered with the Timmins Majorettes and was a devoted cross country ski mom and grandmother. Her proudest moments were as a grandmother to her four grandchildren who brought her much joy, and whom she loved wholeheartedly. Sue enjoyed camping, first at the Kidd Creek (Big Water) Campground in the 1970s and 1980s and more recently at the Finn Club in the Barber’s Bay area. Sue is well-remembered for her flair for fashion, and her love of simple pleasures like sewing, bowling, playing horseshoes and cards, and enjoying a beer and Clamato with friends. Sue touched the lives of everyone she met with her kindness, grace, and love of life. While she is no longer with us in body, the examples of unconditional love, acceptance, and gratitude she left will stay with us forever.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Karen Armstrong for her care of Sue over many years as her primary care physician, as well as Dr. DiTullio, Val and the nurses and staff at Extendicare for their exceptional care and compassion. In keeping with Sue’s wishes, a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sue’s memory to the Porcupine Ski Runners or the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation are greatly appreciated. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
