Obituary for Susan "Susie" McCaughey

Susan "Susie" McCaughey
McCAUGHEY, SUSAN "Susie"

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Susan McCaughey (nee O’Donnell) after a brief illness on July 13, 2017 at the age of 96 at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital in Uxbridge, ON. She will be reunited with her dear late husband, Arthur (predeceased 2002), and is survived by her beloved daughter Audrey Stephenson and her husband, Bob of Uxbridge, ON. She was the loving grandmother of Kristin Steves and her husband Gerry, and Robin Suh and her husband Dan. Her pride and joy were her great grandchildren Katie, Jacob and Ben. She will lovingly be remembered as Aunt Ciss by her niece Sandra Allaire (Don) and her family. Born in Fife, Scotland, she came to Canada in 1957 where she called Timmins home. She made many dear friends while working for Canada Post. Susie spent much of her life devoted to the Catholic Church and was a Sacristan at Nativity Parish for over 25 years. She was a longstanding member of the Catholic Women’s League and was a good and faithful servant to the Lord.
Susie’s scottish accent, her love of music and singing and her sense of humour will be missed fondly by her family and friends. Many thanks to the nurses and staff at Reachview Village and Uxbridge Cottage Hospital for the wonderful care they provided. Memorial Mass will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from the St-Anthony’s Cathedral (Msgr Pat Lafleur officiating). A reception will follow in the Cathedral hall. Remembrance donations made on Susie's behalf to The Lord’s Kitchen Society would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the
