It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family announces his very sudden passing on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury at the age of 62 years. Beloved husband of 37 years and forever soul mate to Cheryl Viau. Loving and proud father to his Punkin, Shannon (Steve) and his Bud, Russell. Cherished Pepere to his grand babies Viau and Joey Valentini. Dear brother of Rene (Cecile), Celine, Andre, Denise (Gerald), Diane (Gilbert) and Christine (Dennis). Dear brother-in-law of Laure (Joe), Maureen (Remi) and Norman (Patricia). He was predeceased by his parents Real and Martha Viau. Also left to mourn are many treasured nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and very dear friends. Roger was a simple man who loved nothing more than being with people he loved, making people laugh, laughing with them, being outdoors, having a cold beer (mostly with his buddy Gilbert), listening to music (the louder the better) and throwing the ball around the yard with his trusty sidekick Journey. He was an amazing man whose infectious laugh will be missed by so many. He will be missed by many, but will never be forgotten. In lieu of flowers, drink a cold beer and play your favourite song really loud for him. A celebration of life will take place next summer. The funeral arrangements are entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
