Obituary for Riley Dickson

Riley Dickson
Dickson, Riley (1995-2024)
It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of our son, Riley Allen Dickson on June 11, 2024, at the young age of 28 years. Born on July 12, 1995, in Timmins, he was the cherished son of Natalie Rosevear and Dave Dickson. Riley's life was a vibrant reflection of passion, his fearlessness, and his adventurous spirit.
From the moment he came into our lives, Riley filled our hearts with immeasurable love and laughter. With each passing year, he matured into a remarkable individual, achieving big and small milestones in anything he set his mind toward. From his first day of school to his most recent acceptance to begin his Masters this fall, his intelligence and curiosity made him unforgettable - always eager to learn and explore new ideas.
Most recently, Riley worked as an RN at CHEO in Ottawa. With prior experiences including the Heart Institute in Ottawa, Emerg in Pembroke, and some travelling posts in Vancouver and Halifax. His dedication to work was only surpassed by his love for travel. From hiking Machu Picchu in Peru, to enjoying the hot springs in Iceland, to speaking at a Bio-Ethics convention in Portugal to his most recent trip in April of this year to Ireland and Scotland. In his 28 years, Riley chose to enjoy life and to appreciate all the wonders that the world has to offer.
Riley is survived by his loving parents, Natalie (Derek) Rosevear and Dave (Lori) Dickson, his brothers, Kaleb ,Hayden, Anthony and Daelin and his sisters, Addison and Callie, who will all miss him dearly. He also leaves behind his maternal grandparents, Barbara and Kenneth Poulin, his paternal grandparents, Richard and Linda Dickson, his uncles, Kyle Dickson and David (Krista) Poulin, his partner, Adam Yoo and countless remarkable friends. Riley's legacy will live on in the hearts of all those who knew him. His life, though short, was a testament to the impact that one individual can have on the world.
Remembrance donations to the Riley Dickson Memorial Scholarship through O'Gorman High School (Cheque payable to Northeastern Catholic District School Board) would be greatly appreciated. As per his request, cremation was held and the family will receive friends and family on Friday, June 28th, 2024 from 7p.m. until 9p.m. at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
