The family announces with great sorrow his sudden passing at home on Monday, March 16, 2020 at the age of 77 years. Beloved husband of Carmen Lariviere (nee Riopel). Cherished father of Anne (Roch) Vien, Lisa Lariviere (Paul Boudreau) and Rose Lariviere (Mark Trudel). Proud grandfather of Tika (Mathieu) Roy, Cassie Vien, Zandrea Poirier (Eric Dion), Jeric Poirier, Thalya Lariviere-Prozee, Naomi (Andrew) Partington, Nakita Beaudoin and Shanyka Beaudoin. Great grandfather of Maeva, Ivy River and Evelyn Rose. Brother of Jocelyne (Jacques) Riopel, Daniel Lariviere (Carole Heroux), brother-in-law of Joe Mackay and Helene Lariviere. Richard will be sadly missed by the Riopel family and his close friends Denis Carriere and Robert Lacroix.
Predeceased by his parents Rheo Lariviere and Adrienne Lefebvre, his brother Denis and his sister Louise.
Richard had a passion for music and enjoyed entertaining family and friends. He was also an avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing and hunting.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Remembrance donations to Diabetes Canada would greatly appreciated. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
