The slight smile, his twinkling eyes, his loving nature describe a gentle caring man, Raffaele Crispo. So much of who he was, is bound up in his love of and passion for his family, friends, and of course, a passion for gardening.
Raffaele was an exemplary employee who worked at ONR for 31 years. He was hardworking and enjoyed working even through the harshest conditions, checking the railroad tracks in the dead of winter to ensure that the train lines were safe fhe passengers and freight. After he retred, he kept busy with his family, friends and gardening. He found ways to help people in any way possible, and he was always very generous with his time. From digging basements, to sharing his figs, to helping people to 'zappa' their gardens, Raffaele gave without regard to the burden upon himself. He never complained despite the hardships he faced. The smile and kind eyes never wavered.
Raffaele's love for his family surpassed everything. Raffaele was fortunate to experience two love, Concietta and Angela. He deeply loved and was loved by his daughters Lisa and Victoria and his son John. He had a very special bond with his son-in-law, Perry who was a son to him. John and Raffaele enjoyed playing cards, going for coffee, and John would go every day to the hospital and nursing home to play cards and watch Three's Company and Wheel of Fortune with his dad.
