Obituary for Normand Martin

Normand Martin
With broken hearts, the family of Normand Martin announce his peaceful passing in hospice care at The Timmins and District Hospital on December 21St, 2022, with his wife and daughters by his side. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Suzanne (Boisvert) and his daughters, Renée and Joelle, his sister Lynda Vincent (Roger) and a brother Philippe (Diane). He leaves behind his four beloved grandchildren who were the light of his life: Hunter, Cameron, Sophie and Maxime as well as many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his parents Allard and Jeanne D'Arc Martin as well as a sister, Thérèse and a sister-in-law Dorothy Martin.

Norm was the best husband, father, grandfather (Oompa) and uncle. He was proud of all of them and would do anything for them. He was happiest when at the cottage, fishing, or hunting or in his workshop creating gifts for his family. His greatest joys were time spent with the family. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed making projects and trying new things. He had a wonderful sense of humour, his laugh was infectious and his smile lit up a room. Norm will be missed by all but in particular his two brothers-in-law who were also his best friends: Lorne Haufe, Leslie Doyle, Also his wife's brother Daniel Boisvert, who he thought of as his little brother

As per his wishes he will be cremated and there will be no funeral or service. However a celebration of his life will take place in July 2023. Heartfelt thanks to his numerous doctors here in Toronto and to the nursing staff on Medical A, especially nurse Nat.

No one could have fought harder to have one last Christmas with us. Almost made it hon! In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations in his name to the TDH Foundation would be appreciated. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.

"Remember me with smiles and laughter
For that is how I will remember you all.
If you can only remember me with tears
Then don't remember me at all."
