La famille annonce avec regret son décès à L'Extendicare Timmins, le mardi 24 janvier 2017 à l'âge de 95 ans. Époux bien-aimé d'Hélène Massicotte (née Manseau). Cher père d'Alfred Auger (Doris) de Winnipeg, Aline Fournier (Real) de Timmins et Ernest Massicotte (Jennifer) de Ile St Joseph. Grand-papa adoré de Nicky, Theresa, Vicky, Donald, Gary, Lise, Carole, Marc, Ronald, Paul, Rachelle et Nicole ainsi qu'arrière grand-papa de 20 et arrière arrière grand-papa de 3. Noel est prédécédé par ses parents Ernest Massicotte et Amanda Dalbon, sa soeur Blanche Vieno, ses frères Eugène, Urgel, André, Alphonse, Severin et sa fille Yvonne et son époux Bill Allan.
La famille tient a remercier les gens du Château Georgian et de l'Extendicare Timmins pour les soins donnés à Noël durant les dernières années. Un gros merci à Lise Rungis pour les bons soins attentifs que tu as donné a ton pépère et à Marie Rose Balliu pour toujours être là pour aider et d'être la meilleur nièce un oncle aurait pu avoir.
Timmins fut la demeure de Noël pour les dernière 90 ans sauf son absence quand il a servit avec Le Royal 22ième Régiment du Canada durant la Deuxième Guerre mondiale. Il vut le combat en Italie, France, Belgique, les Pays-Bas et l'Allemagne. Noël fut blessé en septembre 1944 durant l'assault sur "Germany Gothic Line" en Italie.
Noël aimait jouer aux cartes et aux quilles dans une ligue local jusqu'a dans ses 90 ans. Comme presque tout les résidants de Timmins à ce temps là, il était un mineur.
Le service funèbre aura lieu le jeudi 26 janvier à 13h00 en la chapelle du Salon Funéraire Miron-Wilson (Diacre Michel Néron officiant). Inhumation au Cimetière mémorial de Timmins suivra. Une réception aura lieu au Salon Miron-Wilson. Les dons commémoratifs à une charité de votre choix seront grandement appréciés. La famille accueillera parents et amis le mercredi 25 janvier en soirée de 17h à 19h et le jeudi 26 janvier de 11h45 à 12h45 au SALON FUNERAIRE MIRON-WILSON, CENTRE DE RÉCEPTION ET D’INCINÉRATION,

The family announces with great sorrow the passing of Noel Massicotte at the Timmins Extendicare on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the age of 95 years. Beloved husband of Helene Massicotte (nee Manseau). Loving father of Alfred Auger (Doris) of Winnipeg, Aline Fournier (Real) of Timmins and Ernest Massicotte (Jennifer) of St. Joseph Island. Cherished grandfather of Nicky, Theresa, Vicky, Donald, Gary, Lise, Carole, Marc, Ronald, Paul, Rachelle and Nicole. Noel was also the great grandfather of 20 and the great great grandfather of 3.
Noel was predeceased by his parents Ernest Massicotte and Amanda Dalbon, sister Blanche Vieno, brothers Eugène, Urgel, André, Alphonse, Severin and daughter Yvonne and her husband Bill Allan. The family would like to thank the staff of the Château Georgian and the Timmins Extendicare for the care they provided Noel during these past few years. Also a special thanks to Lise Rungis for all the loving care you gave your pépère and to Marie Rose Balliu for always helping and being the best niece a an uncle could have.
Noel was a resident of Timmins for over 90 years. His only absence from the city of gold were while he served with "Le Royal 22ieme Regiment du Canada during World War II. He saw combat in Italy, France, Belgium, The Netherlands & Germany. Noel was wounded in Sept. 1944 during the assault on the German Gothic Line in Italy.
Noel enjoyed playing cards and bowled in one of our local leagues till he was 90. As most residents of Timmins Noel was a miner by trade.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from the Miron-Wilson Funeral Chapel (Deacon Michel Néron officiating). Interment at The Timmins Memorial cemetery. A reception will follow at the Miron-Wilson Reception Lounge. Remembrance donations to a Charity of your Choice would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends from 7 pm to 9 pm on Wednesday evening, January 25 and from 11:45 am to 12:45 pm on Thursday, January 26 at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 150 Balsam St. S. Timmins
