Lionel "Leo"  Huet
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Leo at the Timmins and District Hospital on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at the age of 71 years. Beloved husband of Helen Huet (nee Chenette). Loving father of Carol (Mike Zoschke) of South Porcupine, Hélène (Denis Sabourin) of Timmins, Paul Huet (Joyce) of Reno Nevada and Donald Huet (Kathleen) of Timmins. Cherished grandfather of Melissa (Derek Bouchard), Laura Rainville (Kyle Lalonde), Meaghan Quinn (Bryan Jean), Kevin Sabourin, Josée Sabourin, Tyler Sandvig-Huet, Kelsey Huet, Dacotah Baker-Huet, Curtis Huet, Joseph Huet, Leona Huet and great grandfather of Blair Bouchard, Nathan Rainville, Madison Rainville, Mallory Courtemanche, Sianna Bouchard and Isaac Jean. Dear brother of Gilberte Larabie, Fred Huet (Lucie), Bernadette Nolet-Liebelt, Roseanna Daigle and Marie Huet-Brazeau. He is survived by his sisters-in-law Alice Lachance, Joyce Chenette, Rita Wagner and Barbara Lemire (Claude Poirier). He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews and his goddaughters Diane Daigle and Meaghan Quinn. Predeceased by his parents Wilfrid and Marie-Louise and his siblings Alice, Louis-George, Lorette, Joseph, Gerard, Jeanne D'Arc, Simone and Jeannine. A heartfelt thank you to the nurses and doctors in the Intensive Care Unit at the Timmins and District Hospital for your care and compassion during this difficult time. Leo was a longtime miner. He worked in many mines across Canada and the United States. He loved music, playing his guitar at family gatherings and with friends. He will be missed by his Jamboree friends and family. His family always came first. His love for his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was unconditional. He was loved by all and a favorite to many.


Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from St. Dominique Church (Deacon Michel Néron officiating). Interment at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. A reception will follow in the St. Dominique Hall. Remembrance donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a Charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Monday, August 7, 2017 at the
