The family announces with great sorrow his passing at the Timmins and District Hospital on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the age of 74 years. Beloved husband of 54 years to Nicole Chabot (nee Alarie). Loving father of Tanya Gourley (Justin) and Donald Chabot (Brigitte). Cherished grandfather of Melissa, Yanick, Ethan and Cedric and great grandfather of Mia and Miley. Jean-Guy is survived by his mother Agathe Chabot (nee Bilodeau). Dear brother of Camille Chabot (Réjeanne), Réjean Chabot (Diane), Gilles Chabot (Rita), Rhéal Chabot, Roch Chabot (Lucille), Daniel Chabot, Rose Chabot (Majoric), Lise Larochelle (André), Johane Chabot (Robert), Michelle Chabot (late Claude), Marcelle Chabot and Chantal Chabot-Benoit (late Wade). He leaves behind his brothers and sisters-in-law Pierrette Ostrom, Lucie Fleming (late Harold), Ginette Ledger (Bill), Normand "Ti-Blacky" Alarie (Jeannie), late Albert "Big Blacky" Alarie (Yvonne) and late Jean-Pierre Alarie (Candide). He leaves many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Lorenzo Chabot and his brother Léopold Chabot (Suzie).
The family would like to express a big thank you to Bayshore Nursing especially to Liz, Access Better Living, St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto, Dr. Burke and staff from Health mob Sciences North in Sudbury and Timmins and District Hospital for all the excellent care.
The funeral mass will take place on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11:00 am from Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix Church. Interment at Timmins Memorial Cemetery. A reception will follow. Remembrance donations to the Canadian Spinal Research Organization would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends and family on Friday evening, October 28, 2022 from 7-9 pm and Saturday morning from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins, ON. Époux bien-aimé de Nicole Chabot (née Alarie) de 54 ans. Papa adoré de Tanya Gourley (Justin) and Donald Chabot (Brigitte). Grand-papa de Melissa, Yanick, Ethan et Cedric ainsi qu'arrière grand-papa de Mia et Miley. Jean-Guy laisse dans le deuil sa mère Agathe Chabot (née Bilodeau). Cher frère de Camille Chabot (Réjeanne), Réjean Chabot (Diane), Gilles Chabot (Rita), Rhéal Chabot, Roch Chabot (Lucille), Daniel Chabot, Rose Chabot (Majoric), Lise Larochelle (André), Johane Chabot (Robert), Michelle Chabot (feu Claude), Marcelle Chabot et Chantal Chabot-Benoit (feu Wade). Il sera manqué par ses beaux-frères et belles-soeurs; Pierrette Ostrom, Lucie Fleming (feu Harold), Ginette Ledger (Bill), Normand "Ti-Blacky" Alarie (Jeannie), feu Albert "Big Blacky" Alarie (Yvonne) and feu Jean-Pierre Alarie (Candide). Il laisse ainsi plusieurs nièces et neveux. Prédécédé par son père Lorenzo Chabot et son frère Léopold Chabot (Suzie).

La messe de funérailles aura lieu le samedi 25 octobre 2022 à 11h00 en la Paroisse Notre-Dame-de-la-Paix. Inhumation au Cimetière commémoratif de Timmins. Une réception suivra en la Paroisse. Les dons commémoratifs à "Canadian Spinal Research Organization" seront grandement appréciés.
