The family announces with great sorrow her peaceful passing at home surrounded by her family on January 2, 2018 at the age of 77 years. Beloved spouse of Henri "Piva" Mathieu of Gogama. Loving mother of Nicole Mathieu (Dwain Gordon) of Hagensborg, BC., Claude Mathieu (Pamela Gaudreau) of Gogama, Marc Mathieu (Janet Laginha) of North Bay, Carole Harlock (Roderick) of St-Catharines and Francine Mathieu (Marc Beland) of Gogama. Cherished grandmother of Stephen, Shannon, Shelly, Christy, Kelsey, Stacey, Tamara, Thomas, Kayla, Kenny, Veronica, Monica, Roderick, Adam, Kristian, Cindy, Jessica and 27 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Raymond Savard (late Rosemay) of Timmins, Yvette Brisson (late Laurier) of Sudbury, late Rheal Savard (late Lorraine) of Chelmsford, Ernest Savard (Claudette) of Timmins, Léa Melanson (Marcel) of Gogama, Simone Mathieu (late Lionel) of Gogama, Laurette Groulx (late Ronald) of Gogama, Armand Savard (Claudette) of Timmins, Aimé Savard (Colette) of Timmins, Helen Joron (Philippe) of Val Gagné, Rolande Vien (Paul) of South Porcupine, late Pauline Joron (Maurice) of Timmins, late Laurent Savard (Réange) of Gogama. She was predeceased by her parents Lionel and Delice Savard. Irene loved to be surrounded by family, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing cards and tending to her flowers. She will be sadly missed by many. As per her wishes cremation has been held and a memorial service will be held at a later date this summer. Remembrance donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be greatly appreciated. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
