The family announces with sorrow the peaceful passing of Mrs. Clara De Luca of Timmins at the Timmins Extendicare on Thursday, March 12, 2015. Clara was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Bill. She was also predeceased by her parents, Piero and Maria , her brothers , Lino and Guido and her infant sister , Clara. She is survived by her daughters , Leah ( Brian) and Roma (Paul) and by her son, Alan. She is also survived by her grandchildren Audra Simmons( Mark) , Derek Simunovic, Wayde Simunovic( Tammy) , Sean Simmons, Marisa Simunovic( Klaus) and Elena Simunovic( Drew) as well as her great grand children Davida, Marcello, Massimo, Angelo, Brixton, Kingsley, Otto and Oliver. Clara is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Lucy De Luca and Frankie Morandin , and nephews Peter, Lino and Mark Morandin. Clara was born on her parent's dairy cattle farm on MacLean Drive south of Laforest Road. Along with the other farm kids, Clara walked to Holy Family School - now LaRonde - 2.75 miles one way, rain or snow. After moving into town, Clara attended high school and met and married her husband Bill. Clara was a homemaker who fulfilled her duties to her children and her husband in a loving and exemplary fashion. Clara was a fabulous cook, learning from her mother, Maria and her mother-in-law, Carmela as well as from the ladies in her social circle. Clara started cooking at age six, peeling potatoes and firing up the wood stove for the farm hands. As well, Clara was accomplished at needlepoint, crochet, knitting, sewing, candle making , pastry making and was a first class clothes and dress maker, making most of her own clothes as well as clothes for her family. Clara's family has learnt many good and very unique life lessons from her and they will miss her talents, loving care and fantastic social skills. Clara has asked that an acknowledgement go out to the staff at Timmins Extendicare for their total professionalism, understanding and compassion and; moreover, for their unhesitant and unrestricted use of all the personnel and equipment assets at their command in order to provide a comfortable and loving environment for her , especially during her last days. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 16, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. in the Miron-Wilson Funeral Chapel. (Fr. Stephane Kazadi officiating). A reception will follow in the Miron-Wilson Reception Lounge. Remembrance donations, if desired, may be made to Timmins Extendicare or any other charity of choice. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 16, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. at the
