We regret to announce the death of Berthe Alexis Thibodeau at the age of 84 years. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2019 at the Timmins and District Hospital with her family at her side. She is predeceased by her loving husband Roland, her parents Paul and Germaine Piché, brother Paul Piché, and son D’arcy Thibodeau. Loving mother of Nicole Thibodeau, Marcelle Howie (Jim), and Pierre Paul Thibodeau all of Timmins. She is survived by her sister Ruth Delisle, her grandchildren; John Thibodeau, Anne Thibodeau (Moiz Tahir), Steven and Justin Howie, as well as three great grandchildren; Nathan, Emilie and Samira.

Her family was her life. She treasured her children, grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. While raising her four children, Berthe completed her secondary school diploma, obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Laurentian University and a Teachers College Certificate. She enjoyed being a teacher, loved music and took great pride in preparing vocalist students for the Porcupine Music Festival. Even as her health declined, children always brought a smile to her face. Our mother was generous and hardworking. Rest easy Mom, we know that you are watching over us. She will be well remembered for her love to communicate with friends and family on a frequent basis. A special thank you to the staff at the Timmins and District Hospital who cared for her.

As per Berthe’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no visitation or service will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Remembrance donations in memory of Berthe made to the Heart and Stroke Association or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
