Obituary for Alva "Al" Cooper

Alva "Al" Cooper
COOPER, Alva Leonard (Al) It is with many tears that the family of Al Cooper announces his passing in his 85th year. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Cooper, Toronto, ON, his grandchildren, Laura Rusenstrom (Toronto, ON) and Mathew Rusenstrom (Stoney Creek, ON) and Elizabeth’s Mother, Barbara (Sutherland) Hall. Al will be missed by his devoted companion and best friend, Elaine Mulryan and Elaine’s son, Michael (Diane) Mulryan. He was predeceased by his parents, Vincent MacDonald Cooper and Theresa Cooper, his sister Loretta Monette, and his brothers, Desmond and Russell Cooper. Al was a life-long resident of Timmins and a long-standing member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. In his younger years he worked at the Hollinger and Paymaster Mines. As a skilled carpenter, he could always be found working on a project of personal or professional interest. He often spent time with Elaine and friends having dinner on Friday nights at the Fishbowl Restaurant or Saturday morning breakfasts at the McIntyre Coffee Shop. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on a date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospital for Sick Kids Foundation or the House of Kin would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements have been entrusted to the
