Obituary for Wayne Morin

Wayne Morin
The family announces with great sorrow the passing of Wayne Morin. Wayne passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023, after a long battle with cancer. He was 75 years old.

Wayne is predeceased by his mother, Francis Morin and his father, Denis Morin.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Morin, who gave him the best years of his life and his children, Tracy Morin, Glen Kivioja, Gilles Lavigne (spouse Jonathan Sotto), and Patrique Lavigne.

He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Deven Kivioja, Sara Kivioja, Haley Cloutier, Isaac Kivioja, Carter Lavigne, and Leah Lavigne, whom all brought him so much love and joy. He will also be remembered by his nieces Barb Henderson, Colleen Belaire, and Cindy Thorsteinson, of whom he had the fondest memories.

Wayne wanted to acknowledge the love and support of his in-laws who strengthened him throughout his life and during his illness: Terry Madore, Jerry and Louise Madore, Joanne and Mike Malo, Paulette Lajoie, Bobby Madore, and thanks to Nicole Madore, who kept him in touch with his religious beliefs.

His family wishes to extend a special thanks to the dedicated staff of the Northeast Cancer Center and the staff at Bayshore Health Care, who kept him comfortable in his final days.

Wayne no longer suffers, and we are all grateful for that, but our grief in his absence will linger for many years. It is this grief, however, that will always remind us of our special relationship with this remarkable man.

Remembrance donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2023 at 3:00pm in the Miron-Wilson Funeral Home chapel. The family will receive family and friends on Thursday, May 4, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:45pm at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
