The family announces with sorrow her death at the Timmins and District Hospital on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at the age of 80 years. Predeceased by her husband Michel Leo Barrette in 1995. Dear mother of Diane Lackie (Steve), Guy (Melvina), Gaby (Tammy) and Bryan (Cindy). Cherished grandmother of Cheryl, Carol, Christie, Brittany, Jessica, Michelle, Gabriel, Rebecca, Kelly, Billy and Tiffany and great grandmother of Caius, Esme, Noah, Nixon, Maislee, Lexie and Casidee. Dear sister of Therese Thuot and Luc Guerin. Violette will be missed by her friend Marie-Paule Levert as well as her friends at the Lasalle Retirement Home and the Spruce Hill Lodge. She was an avid bingo player and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary and the Dart Club. Remembrance donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated. A scheduled visitation and service will be held on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the Miron-Wilson Funeral Home. Due to the Covid-19 regulations, any person wishing to attend the visitation and/or funeral service MUST call the funeral home (705-264-4444) between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to schedule an appointment. (mask wearing and social distancing will be required along with the maximum number of attendees allowed at one time).
