The family announces with great sorrow her passing at the Golden Manor in Timmins on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at the age of 98 years. Beloved wife of the late Edward Major (1992). Loving mother of Albert "Bert" Major of Timmins, Barbara Brisbois (late Donald - 2019) of Timmins, Brenda Laronde (Gene) of Dunn Lake Cochrane and Debbie Browne (Jim) of Timmins. Cherished grandmother of Russell, late Ivan (2010), Shawn, Amy, Melanie, Lindsey, Amber, Jesse, Mitchell and Danny. Dear great grandmother of Joshua, Zachary, Michel "Mikey", Alex, Sara, Landon, Marshall, Abbigail, Boston, Lily, Tylee Violet, Tyson, Easton, Owen and great great grandmother of 3. Violet was predeceased by her four brothers William, Malcolm, Harold and Albert. A special thank you to the wonderful caregivers from the Golden Manor East 2 who took such good care of their “nannie” for all those years. As per her request, cremation was held and a graveside service will take place in the spring. Remembrance donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
