La famille annonce avec regret le décès de Sylvio à l’hôpital de Timmins et du district le dimanche 28 février 2021 à l’âge de 89 ans. Époux de feue Shirley (née Savard). Cher père de Monique Chenard (Yvan Cyr) de Gogama, Claudette Chenard de Sudbury, Edward Chenard de Gogama et feu Jean-Marc Chenard (Chantal Boudreau-Chenard) de Timmins. Grand-père adoré de Keith, Sylvain, Stéphanie, Madonna, Jonathan, Terry et Willard Jr. ainsi que plusieurs arrière petits-enfants. Cher frère de Thérèse, Gérard, Claire, Lucille, Albert, Aurore et Marguerite. Il sera manqué par plusieurs nièces, neveux, cousins et amis surtout par son «Partner in crime» Bert Caporici. Prédécédé par ses parents Edouard et Emilia, son frère Léopold et ses sœurs Madeleine et Laurrette. Sylvio à travailler pendant 32 ans pour E.B. Eddy Forest Products et en retraite, il était fondateur du Gogama Waterfront Lodge avec l’aide de son garçon feu Jean-Marc où il aimait passer son temps. La famille aimerait remercier les membres de l’hospice à l’Hôpital de Timmins et du district et l’infirmière Amy Lafleur de Bayshore pour les soins que Sylvio à reçu. Aussi un gros merci à Chantal Boudreau-Chenard pour être toujours là pour Sylvio et pour l’aide et les conseils que nous avons reçu d’elle. La messe commémorative aura lieu le samedi 6 mars 2021 à l’église Notre Dame du St-Rosaire (Gogama) à 11h00. La famille accueillera les amis samedi de 10h00 à 11h00 dans la salle de l’église. En raison de la pandémie Covid-19, il y aura des restrictions (places limitées) à suivre pour ceux et celles qui veulent assister aux visites et la messe. Des masques et des mesures d’éloignement physique seront nécessaires. Pour ceux et celles qui le désirent, vos marques de sympathie peuvent se traduire par des dons à l’église Notre Dame du St-Rosaire. Loving husband of the late Shirley Chenard (nee Savard). Dear father of Monique Chenard (Yvan Cyr) of Gogama, Claudette Chenard of Sudbury, Edward Chenard of Gogama and the late Jean-Marc Chenard (Chantal Boudreau-Chenard) of Timmins. Loving grandfather of Keith, Sylvain, Stéphanie, Madonna, Jonathan, Terry and Willard Jr. and great grandfather to many great grandchildren. Dear brother of Thérèse, Gérard, Claire, Lucille, Albert, Aurore and Marguerite. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends especially by his “Partner in crime” Bert Caporici. Predeceased by his parents Edouard and Emilia, his brother Léopold and his sisters Madeleine and Laurrette. Sylvio worked for 32 years with E.B. Eddy Forest Products and in retirement, he was the founder of the Gogama Waterfront Lodge with the help of his son the late Jean-Marc where he enjoyed spending time. The family wish to thank the members of the Hospice Centre at Timmins and District Hospital and Nurse Amy Lafleur from Bayshore for the care he received. Also, a big thank-you to Chantal Boudreau-Chenard for always being there for Sylvio and the help and guidance we received from her. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at 11am from Notre Dame du St-Rosaire Church (Gogama). The family will receive friends from 10-11am on Saturday in the church hall. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be restrictions (limited spots) to be followed for those wanting to go to the visitation or mass. Masks and physical distancing are necessary. Remembrance donations to the Notre Dame du St-Rosaire Church would be greatly appreciated.
