Obituary for Sheila Mortson (Kennedy)

Sheila Mortson (Kennedy)
It is with profound sadness that the family announces the passing of our mom at the Golden Manor on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the age of 92 years. Predeceased by her husband Angus "Gus" Mortson in 2015. Loving mother of Shelley Bamford (late Pat) of Timmins, Jamie Mortson (Barbara) of Timmins, Bruce Mortson (Susan) of Gillies Bay, BC, Gail Sokoloski (Darrell) of Timmins, Kim Laforest (Marc) of Timmins and Scott Mortson (Donna) of Thunder Bay as well as her daughter-in-law Linda Mortson of Timmins. Cherished grandmother to Jonathan, Matthew, Evan, Dana, Kelsey, Stephanie, Christina, Leah, Brent, Taryn, Lisa, Jennifer, David, Nicole, Amanda and Katelyn as well to 19 great grandchildren. Also predeceased by her son Angus Mortson and her sister Lorraine Hansford.
We will miss her delicious sense of humour and warm hugs. Moms love of swimming was passed on to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was one class act, she didn’t mince words. If she liked you, you had a friend for life. The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff of E2 the Golden Manor and to Dr. Julie Auger for taking such good care of mom and her family. Your kind gestures will not go unnoticed.
In light of the current corona virus pandemic, in efforts to protect the public and the family, they have made the decision to have a private graveside celebration at a later date. Remembrance donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Society would be greatly appreciated. The funeral arrangements are entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 150 Balsam St. S. Timmins.
