It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Sarah Mary Scott (nee Metatawabin) at the Fort Albany hospital on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife of John Scott. Loving mother of Paul, Jacinthe, Francois (Minnie), Rita, Madeline (Meeshan), Lucie and Gilbert (Margaret). Cherished grandmother of Honarine, Micheal, Melissa (Jerry), Nadine, Justin, Tiffany, John.C, George, Brianna, Mandy, Joe, April (Leo), John, Candace (Tyson), Pamela, Ryan, Sarah and Jeremiah. She will be missed by her great grandchildren Alesha, Hailey, Ethan, Gwen, Jakob, Levi, Shyla, Lucas, Adrienne, Dallas, Riley, Kaylee, Skyler, Johnathan and Mason. Dear sister of Madeline (Joseph.C) and Pauline (Joseph.T). She is predeceased by her parents Xavier and Cecelia Metatawabin; her children Alfred, Arthur, and Cecelia; her siblings Eli, Augustine and Angela.

Our mother, grandmother and great grandmother was a very kind, warm and loving person. She was a very strong, compassionate person and her strength came from her family values, unity and supported by her Christian faith. We will always have a place where we belong together.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at the Fort Albany hospital and the Fort Albany First Nation leadership and the community. Kitchi Meegwetch.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 12 noon from the St-Anthony’s Church (Father John Lemire officiating). Remembrance donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 14, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:30 am at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 150 Balsam St. S. Timmins
