I was fortunate to have been taught by Mr. Gadzala over 5 times in my highschool career, and we often joked that we "couldn't escape eachother!"
Mr. Gadzala is the kindest person I have ever met, and he has left his mark on so many students. He was truly a man of God, and if there's anyone deserving of the Kingdom of Heaven, it's him.
There were times when I was younger where I would doubt my religion. I was lucky to have Mr. Gadzala as my religion teacher. In grade 10 after class ended, I left, and reentered when everyone had gone. Mr. Gadzala asked me what was wrong, and if I needed help with something. I said yes, and explained to him my problem. I asked him about religion, and disclosed to him all of my doubts. I don't know what I expected as a reaction, but I will forever remember how much he cared. He said, "Go and get your lunch, and I'll get mine. We can talk." So I did, and when I came back, he had arranged two desks and chairs to face eachother. I told him about how I was doubting my religion, and how I was unsure. For the one hour we spent together, he changed my mind. He explained that God doesn't let bad things happen, humans do. And eventually through the suffering, we will obtain the greatest gift of all, Heaven.
I left the room with a different attitude. It wasn't the last time I would have doubts; however. I returned to his classroom at lunch for the same words of wisdom many times. We went over the bible together, talked about parables, and he cleared up many misconceptions about my religion for me.
Today, I am a woman of God, but I have been taught by someone who took his time to care, to listen, and to ensure that I understood how special I was in the eyes of God. Everyone around him saw that Mr. Gadzala was a man of faith, and still is. He left his mark on so many.
I know that one day we will see eachother again, and the first thing I imagine him saying is, "we just can't escape eachother!" Followed by his renowned laughter.
To the Gadzala family, please accept my sincerest condolences. Mr. Gadzala spoke to us about many things, but the topic that stands out most in my mind is how much he loved his family. He is always with you.
"He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21:4
