The family announces with great sorrow her death at the Timmins Extendicare, on Friday, June 3, 2022 at the age of 85 years. Beloved wife of the late Roger Riopel. Dear mother of Renée Perron (Denis), Réjeanne Riopel and Rachelle Nault (Alphonse). Cherished grandmother of Véronique (Nicholas), Mathieu (Jenna), Valerie (Adam), Catherine (Scott), Monelle (Jordan), Richard, Stephanie (Eric) and Solange (Tyler). She will be missed by her 10 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Germaine Burnet (late Jimmy), Germain Bisson (Collette), Cecile Dutrisac, Marguerite Krakana (late Dave), Louise Brownrigg, Claire Cormier (Jerry) and Yvonne Mercier (Rick). Sister-in-law of Lorraine Bisson. Also left to mourn are her nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Rita is predeceased by her son Raymond, her brother Léo and her sister Elizabeth.

The family would like to thank the nurses at the Timmins Extendicare for the excellent care and compassion Mom received during her stay.

Remembrance donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 12:00 noon from the Notre-Dame De La Paix church. The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 from 10:00am to 11:45am at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
