Obituary for Pierrette Rendulic (Mayer)

Pierrette Rendulic (Mayer)

The family announces with great sorrow her passing at the Timmins Extendicare on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at the age of 87 years. Beloved wife of Denis Carrière. Cherished mother of Michael Rendulic and Leane Edwards (Stephen). Dear grandmother of Jeffrey (Ashley), Justin (Amanda), Blake (Clarissa) and Autumn (William). Great-grandmother of Harlow, Dawson, Grayson, Olivia and Emma. Sister of Lucille Levasseur (late Hector). Also left to mourn are her friends Pierrette and Normand Cheff, Ginette Mongeon and Christie O’Neill. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Pierrette is predeceased by her parents Eugene and Emilia Mayer, her siblings René-Dorima, Conrad, Roger, Jacqueline and Blanche. She is also predeceased by her first husband, Frank Rendulic.
Pierrette grew up in the Glackmeyer Township, north of Cochrane, Ontario. She was the youngest of 7 children; her fondest memories were spending time with her father in the cheese factory beside their home. Pierrette had a passion for music and excelled at piano and singing. Because of her talent, she was one of 10 girls from across the north who attended grade 12 with the famous Dionne quintuplets at their school in Corbeil, Ontario. She taught music in small schoolhouses near her home after graduating teachers' college in 1953 and then taught piano in her home for 42 years. Soon after graduating she met the love of her life, Frank Rendulic. They were married, had 2 children and were together for almost 50 years until Frank’s passing in 2006.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 11 am from the St-Joseph Church (Father Simon Drapeau officiating). Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 3, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
