The Sutherland family are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Peter (Pejan) in the early hours of February 28, 2023 at the age of 79 years. He peacefully passed away in his sleep in his hometown Peetabeck, Fort Albany. Peter is the dearly beloved husband of late Agnes Sutherland. Loving father of Cathleen (Paul), Linda, Glen (Jennifer), Jeremy, Kevin, Charlotte (Moses), and Sharon. Cherished grandfather of Rachel, Jeremiah, Lucas, Jonas, Christina, Linden, Stanley Jr, Stratt, Brian, Trayden, Charissa, Leeroy, Bertie Jr, Marcus and Alexander, and Jaban (great grandfather) of 2. Dear son of Simeon Sutherland and Charlotte Koostachin, brother of Theresa, Madeline, Emily, Annabella, Susan, Joseph, Xavier, John, William, David and Margaret. Wake service will take place on Sunday, March 5, 2023 at Holy Angels’ Church in Fort Albany from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 at 1 p.m. in the school gymnasium, and will be followed by a burial and feast. Food donations accepted for the feast, meegwetch.
