Paul was born and raised in Timmins. He was well known in the Porcupine Camp as a talented, proficient athlete in both baseball and hockey. In 1953, Paul and the best area hockey players on the Timmins-Porcupine Combines made it all the way to the Memorial Cup Playdowns in North Sydney, NS, a proud achievement of Paul's. A few months later, Paul and the love of his life, Catherine "Katy" Strazisar were married. Following his graduation from High School, Paul began his lifelong career in Mining and developed an expertise in underground ventilation systems. Paul was recognized for his fifty years of contribution to the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) in 2013. His many contributions included published articles in the Association's Professional publication. Paul worked in many mining communities over the years from Timmins, to Mattagami PQ, back to Timmins and finally, Holtyre, ON. On July 27, 2023, Paul and his family gathered in Brantford (his home since the onset of the Pandemic with his daughter Beverly) to celebrate his 90th birthday. There were many, many stories shared of a life well lived. Cremation has taken place and interment will be held in Timmins at a later date. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Diabetic Association, Alzheimer's Society, Timmins Food Bank or a charity of your choice in Paul's memory would be appreciated by the family.
