Obituary for Patricia Legasy

Patricia Legasy
LEGASY, Patricia Bernice (Belanger)
March 17, 1938 to May 20, 2019

With sorrow the family announces Pat’s death at the age of 81 years in Timmins Ontario, following a courageous struggle with pulmonary fibrosis. Beloved wife of Elmer Legasy for 60 years; loving mother of Linda Labrie (Don), Karen (Pamela Laidler), Lawrence and Joel (Tracy); survived by her sister June Pilon (late Gerry) and brother Barry Belanger. Also left to mourn are her grandchildren Jeremy Labrie (Darren Potter), Rebecca Boucher (Danny), Lisa Laidler, Sydney and Emily Legasy; and great-grandchildren Seth, Demi and Scarlett Boucher, and Aurora Perry. Predeceased by her parents Martha and Aldage Belanger and brothers Gerald and Thomas.

Pat was born in Timmins and was a lifelong resident. She was a wonderful wife and mother who cherished her family above all else. Home life was important to her in the house that she and Elmer had built in 1962. She took special pleasure in baking and collecting a huge selection of cookbooks, always on the search for new recipes, especially desserts for her family. We have fond Christmas memories of her signature star, bell and tree shaped cookies. Pat also loved to garden and her favourite flower was the simple pansy, which figured prominently in her gardens. Pat loved to read biographies and took special joy in genealogy.

Everyone in the family knew that her wisdom was always spot-on. She was proud, elegant and had a great sense of humour. Pat loved dearly, was dearly loved, and will be sorely missed by all who knew her. A very big thank you to the medical team: Doctor Caelen Rody, Marnie Chisholm (NP), Amy Lafleur (RN), and CarePartners personal support workers for their care and support. Remembrance donations to the Timmins and District Hospital, in appreciation of their excellent Palliative Care unit would be greatly appreciated. A private celebration of life was held on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at the
