Obituary for Nancy Lagace (Mathe)

Nancy Lagace (Mathe)
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces her passing on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at the Timmins & District Hospital at the age of 51 years. Nancy passed with her husband, daughters, and grandson all at her side and surrounded by love. Beloved wife of Maurice Lagace. Cherished mother of Holly Collins (Scott) and Jessica Lagace (Jano). Loving grandmother of Lyle Collins. Sister of Ricky and Maureen. Also left to mourn are many cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous great friends who were more like family. Nancy will also be sadly missed by her dog and best buddy, Sam. She is predeceased by her parents Real and Barbara Mathe.

Nancy was an incredible mother, spouse and friend who touched the lives of many. Nancy had a passion for travelling and was fortunate to have fulfilled that passion prior to her passing; travelling the world one cruise ship at a time. She conquered her fear of flying to experience the world and live her life to the fullest with her husband and daughters at her side. Nancy was an incredibly strong woman, who fought her hardest right up until the very end; all while keeping her beautiful smile on her face. Nancy loved life and loved to laugh. Her laughter was contagious and will be greatly missed. To know Nancy, was to love her, and her absence will be felt deeply by anyone that knew her.

The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Cohen as well as all the staff at the Timmins District Hospital oncology unit and the hospice unit for their care and compassion.

In light of the current pandemic, in efforts to protect the public and the family, they have decided to have a church service in the upcoming weeks, followed by a celebration of life in the upcoming summer. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation - Oncology Department or the Timmins Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.
