Obituary for Monica Lynn Chartrand (Pickens)

Monica Lynn Chartrand (Pickens)
It’s with heavy hearts that we announce Monica’s final day in the afternoon of March 9th, 2020. She was surrounded by her loving husband and best friend Andre (Andy) and their three daughters Natashia Chartrand (Derick Lemieux), Lisa Barber (Rachel) and Christina Ruggieri (Chris). Her strength will be missed by her 7 grandchildren Tyler, Paige, Talia, Amelia, AJ, Charlie and Jack.

Monica has joined her pre-deceased parents Anna and Murlin ‘Slim’ Pickens, her brother Michael Pickens and father-in-law Ernest Chartrand. She will be deeply missed by her sister Kim Bazinet (Chris), her in-laws Patricia and Guy Dawkins. She also leaves behind her sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Pat Garrett, Pauline Chartrand, Paulette and Guy Doiron, Joanne and Junior Lebrun, Rosanne and Roger Desgagnes, Sheila Pickens, Uwe and Linda Myerman and Tim and Birgit Calder. Monica's many nieces, nephews and their families will miss family camping and bonding with their very special Aunty Monica.

A special thank you to Marnie and Lynn for taking great care of mom so she could spend her last precious days at home with us.

Monica always looked forward to getting together with her high school friends and left these luncheons with a smile on her face. She had a welcoming home and heart to anyone that walked through her doors. She always had snacks to eat, soup or hot chocolate to warm you up. Her values were strong and her character was unmatched. Monica had a wealth of knowledge with many things in life including weaving, arts and crafts, baking & preserving (especially her famous beets and pickles). Monica always knew what she wanted and she surrounded herself with it.

We would love to hear your stories and memories of Monica and welcome you to join us at The Ramada Inn Restaurant room on Riverside to celebrate her life on Sunday March 15, 2020 between 2pm-6pm. She wanted to ‘go out with a bang’ and so this party will be for her.

Donations to the Northeast Cancer Center or a charity of your choice may be made through Miron-Wilson online or at their offices.
