Obituary for Mike Novak(owicz)

Mike Novak(owicz)
NOVAK(OWICZ) , MIKE
NOVEMBER 19, 1932-DECEMBER 23,2020
Mike passed peacefully in his sleep at Timmins and District Hospital on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at age 88 years. He was born in Cobalt and is predeceased by his beloved wife DOROTHY (1993), his father WILLIAM (1976) and mother ANNIE (1977) and his brother JOHN (1989). He is survived by his sons, DAVID (VICKY D’DAMOURS) and MICHAEL and grandson EDWARD. He will be missed deeply by long-time family friend Mary Pryzdail of Toronto. Mike was employed by the Timmins Daily Press for 30 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a lifetime member of the Kinsmen Club and the K-40 Club of Timmins. He was extremely proud of being one of the few members in Canada that had maintained perfect attendance for over 25 years of meetings. His life was primarily devoted to raising his family and spending weekends at the cottage on Little Star Lake. Most important was the love of his life Dorothy, whom he adored for over 46 years, she was the air that he breathed and his heart never recovered from her loss in 1993. Mike had a great sense of humour, loved his two dogs Bingo and Brandy, he enjoyed his monthly trips to his car dealer busting their chops, asking for swag and wiper blades. He was always looking for a deal, he would spend $10 in gas to save $2 on any weekly special items from the flyers. It was just who he was. In light of Covid, the family has decided to have a private service. Mike will be laid to rest at Timmins Memorial Cemetery beside his beloved Dorothy. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations to Canadian Breast Cancer Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated. Sincere thanks to TDH, especially doctors Malo, Woods, and Coutts for their care and support during this difficult time. Funeral arrangement have been entrusted to the
