Obituary for Lucy Mary DeLuca

Lucy Mary DeLuca
The peaceful passing away of Lucy Mary De Luca at Timmins & District Hospital on Saturday, January 26 is sorrowfully announced. Lucy was born in Abruzzo, Italy in 1918 and emigrated to Canada with her family in 1922, settling in Port Arthur, the Sault and finally in Timmins. Lucy was predeceased by her parents , Angelo and Carmela; her sister Angela-Maria in Italy; her brother Bill (2004) and her niece, Roma (Paul) (2015). Lucy is survived by her niece, Leah (Brian), her nephew, Alan, and great nieces: Audra, Marisa and Elena and great nephews: Derek, Wayde and Sean. The excellent help provided to Lucy by the medical and social worker team of second floor medical at TDH is gratefully acknowledged. The loving care given to Lucy by the management and staff of the Georgian Residence - which permitted Lucy to truly enjoy her final years - is also gratefully acknowledged.

Lucy was an accomplished stenographer. She was very mindful of the theological aspect of life; was a supporter of worthy charitable causes; was a member of Sacred Heart Church since its inception and was a devoted helper for decades with the music and singing at Church Masses.
There will be a memorial service for Lucy; however, it will be held this springtime at a date, time and place that will be made known . Remembrance donations to the Comboni Missionaries would be greatly appreciated. The funeral arrangements are entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE
