Obituary for Larry Ruel

Larry Ruel
Ruel, Larry (1969-2022)

Larry Ruel passed peacefully on January 29, 2022 at the age of 52, with his family by his side.
His battle with serious medical conditions started at a young age. Despite this, his life was filled with joyous adventures and laughs surrounded by his family and friends. He was able to travel around the world and come back home to enjoy his favourite pass times. His favourite being; quiet evenings at camp amongst friends. He had a great sense of humour, the jokes he shared always brought a smile to everyone’s faces. His selflessness often neglected his own needs for the well-being of his many friends and family.
Larry is survived by his nurse/wife, Julie. He was the proud step dad to Gabrielle Bossé and Samuel Bossé (Danica), and pépé to Cameron. His best friend, Raymond Dagenais (Joelle) that he loved like a brother. His long-time childhood friends Josée Bergeron (Dan) and Louise Levesque (Todd). He will be sadly missed by his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He will be joining his parents Joseph and Laurentienne (Tootsie) Ruel, his mother-in-law Murielle Gaudet and his dog Nike.
Larry and his family would like to thank Dr.Vaithilingan, Dr. Parmar, the Dialysis Team, Handi-Transit staff and all TDH staff who’ve provided care throughout the years.
In the last few days we could always find laughter and wisdom in his lengthy conversations. Larry was courageous and stayed strong until the end.
As per his wishes no visitation or service will take place. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
