In Memory of Kay Chalmers

Kay Cowan of Elliot Lake, formerly Kay Chalmers of Timmins, has died at the age of 95 years. Kay was born on July 1st, 1924 in Creighton Mine, Ontario. She leaves behind her children Derek Chalmers of Houston, Texas, Hedy Chalmers of Hamilton and Lynn Stewart of Elliot Lake. Also she leaves behind her grandson Richard (RJ) Hodge of Elliot Lake and granddaughters Lara Chalmers of Dallas, Texas and Katrina Chalmers of Houston, Texas. She also has one surviving sister, Lena Arbique of Timmins. Kay is predeceased by her husband Gordon Chalmers and her daughters Brenda and Cheryl.
Kay was known for her beautiful poetry and short stories. She was also an award-winning gardener.
As per Kay’s wishes, cremation has taken place and she will rest peacefully with her husband and daughters.
