Obituary for Joanne Rowe (Makuch)

Joanne Rowe (Makuch)
It is with great sadness that the family announces her death at the Timmins and District Hospital on Monday, July 20, 2020 at the age of 78 years. Beloved wife of Robert Rowe. Dear mother of William Rowe (Paula Steeve), Penny Martin (David) and James Rowe. Loving grandmother of Jessica, Derek, Kendra, Alex and Aiden and great grandmother of Cruise. Dear sister of Mary Louise Bonhomme (John), Wanda Perreault (late Gilles), Stan Makuch (Pierrette), Stefan Makuch (Cheryl), Elizabeth Page (late Bob), Francis Williams (late Mike), Cathy Ferguson (Steve), Tony Makuch (Sylvia) and Joey Makuch. Sister-in-law of Lorne Rowe (Jane), Dorothy Hopkins (Tupper) and Gordon Rowe (Mona). She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mary Makuch and by her sister Lillian Millette. Mom worked at St. Mary’s Hospital retiring in 1987, then was the Walmart greeter for a number of years. She was the strongest woman ever who put her family first. She was diagnosed with breast cancer that spread to her bones where she lost her ability to walk and later to eat. She was always happy even when the pain was excruciating. Mom loved life, her kids, grandchildren and great grandson as well as many sisters, brothers and a huge circle of friends. She was a frequent shopper at Value Village and Walmart up to a week before her passing. She had a huge love of snowmen and singing Xmas trees. She was always ready with a plate of food for you and loved to entertain. Cremation has taken place and the family will receive friends on Thursday, July 23, 2020 from 2-5pm at the Moneta Hotel (Please follow all social distancing rules and the mandatory use of a mask when attending the Moneta Hotel). In order to help those with addictions, remembrance donations to the South Cochrane Addiction Services would be greatly appreciated. The funeral arrangements are entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE. 150 Balsam St. S. Timmins.
