It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Guy at the Hospice of the Timmins and District Hospital on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the age of 60 years. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Nicole (nee Carrière) and his loving son Eric Carrière (Kaitlin Giguère). Predeceased by his mother Jeannine Pépin-Boissoneau (Louis Boissoneault) and survived by his father Jules Lafond (Denise Morneau). Dear brother of Daniel Lafond. He leaves his brothers and sister-in-law Jacqueline Lanteigne (Vital), Daniel Carrière (Pauline), Robert Carrière (Francine) and his father-in-law Ludger Carrière. He leaves many nieces and nephews. Guy was an avid Montreal Canadian Fan and had a fond love for Kit Kats and Pepsi. The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses and doctors at the hospice especially Chrissy Barbuto who Guy was so fond of and Dr. Karen Armstrong and Dr. Lynne Schertfeger. The care and compassion given to our family will never be forgotten.
Funeral mass will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 1:00 pm from St. Anthony's Cathedral. Remembrance donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Timmins and District Hospital Foundation - Hospice would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 14, 2020 from 11:00am – 12:50 pm at St. Anthony’s Cathedral. Masks and social distancing measures will be required and only the first 100 people will be able to attend the mass at church. The funeral arrangements are entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 150 Balsam St. S. Timmins
