Obituary for Ghislaine Lise Marie Ringstead (Larose)

Ghislaine Lise Marie Ringstead (Larose)
Ghislaine Lise Marie Ringstead (nee Larose)
November 30, 1940 – November 25, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Ghislaine, in her 81styear, on Friday November 25th,2022 in St. Catharines, ON. By her side were her son, Brian, his wife Holly Pontello, her precious granddaughter, Whitney, her husband Cory Goulet, and her cherished grandsons Chad (Chelsey Rawlik) and Jacob Ringstead. Beloved wife of Ken Ringstead (predeceased 2021) and her son Kevin (predeceased 1992). The light of her life for 7 years came from her adorable great granddaughter, Grace Goulet. Ghislaine leaves her love and awesome memories with all her family members, relatives and friends. Also left to mourn are her sisters-in-law Freda Larose (Guy) and Karen Ringstead-Taylor (Phil). She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ghislaine is also predeceased by her parents Romeo and Rose-Anna Larose, her brothers Rejean Larose (Pauline), Andre Larose (Pauline) and Guy Larose, her sisters Rejeanne Larose, Fernande Dubeau (Roland), Denise Blanchard (Hector), Gisele Gagnon (Gerard), Lorraine Beaulne (Maurice). Ghislaine enjoyed her employment as Paymaster, then Deputy Tax Collector for 34 years with the City of Timmins where she brought her fantastic sense of humour and innate compassion for others daily. Her pride and joy in life came from her family and the cottage she built with her husband, Ken, and the years they spent together fishing, hiking, boating and picnics with her family on the Pontoon and humungous bonfires at the cottage. Ghislaine had several hobbies and interests from crafts, puzzles, knitting and crocheting to volunteering with the Dames de St. Dominique. Although she had hearing issues, that did not stop Ghislaine from being available to listen to anyone who needed some comfort, support, or advice. Ghislaine’s last few years were spent caring for her husband, Ken, spending time at her cottage with her son, Brian and family and attempting to maintain her independence after her recent diagnosis. Ghislaine, in true form, never gave up hope, always remained in good spirits and kept her sense of humour intact. Ghislaine was extremely grateful for the emotional and medical support she received from her Registered Nurse Practitioner Rosanna Furletti in Timmins and the support and medical services from The Walker Family Cancer Centre, Niagara Health, ParaMed and the Palliative care team, home based services, and support of professionals. A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, December 10, 2022, from the Chapel of Miron-Wilson Funeral Home (Deacon Michel Néron officiating). In Lieu of flowers, please make any donations to The Walker Family Cancer Centre (Niagara Health Foundation) in St. Catharines where Ghislaine received the utmost care and compassion. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022, the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
