Landers, George (1935-2023)
The family announces with great sorrow his passing at the Timmins and District Hospital on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at the age of 87 years. Beloved spouse of Susan Charette-Landers of Timmins. Loving father of Emile Genest (Sylvie) of Monroeville, Indiana, Jeanine Genest of London, ON., Marcel Genest (Crystal) of Calgary, Alberta, and Robbie Stone (Lizzie) of Smith Falls, ON., Shelley Landers and Kimberly Landers. Cherished grandfather of Brianna McCabe, Alexander Stone and Gabriel Genest. Also left to mourn are his brother Joe Landers of Timmins, his sister Diane Mahoney (late Dennis) of Haliburton, ON., and his many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his parents Maurice and Virginia Landers, and his brothers Lloyd and Jim Landers and his sister Margaret Pilon. The family would like to thank all the staff of the Timmins and District Hospital for all their care and compassion. Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023 from the Chapel of Miron-Wilson Funeral Home (Fr. John Lemire officiating). A reception will follow in the Miron-Wilson Reception Lounge. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations to Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
