The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of George Gauthier can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

It is with great sadness that the family of George Gauthier announce his passing after a lengthy battle with cancer on July 12, 2022 at the Timmins & District Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones.

Predeceased by his loving wife Cecile (2014). He will be lovingly remembered by his sisters Giselle Sup (Don), Lynda-Lee Gauthier (Alain), Johanne Gauthier (Jean), his brother Marcel Gauthier (Linda) and his grandchildren: Stacey Gagnon (Jimmy), Paul Grenier (Cheryl) and Kyle Grenier and his great grandchildren Carson Martin (Gracie) and Camryn Martin and Kota Grenier. He will also be missed by numerous nieces and nephews; Tony, Danielle, Tanya, Emma, Cindy as well as his great nieces and nephews and many friends.

Also predeceased by his mother Valida Gauthier (nee Gagnon) and his father Fernand Gauthier.


A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at the Miron-Wilson Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 pm. Inurnment will follow at the Timmins Memorial Cemetery. A reception will take place at the funeral home upon their return from the cemetery. Remembrance donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 10, from 11-12:45 pm with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 150 Balsam St. S, Timmins, ON.
