Obituary for Gabrielle Mageau (Lachance)

Gabrielle Mageau (Lachance)
Gone But Not Forgotten

It is with great sorrow that the family announces her peaceful passing at the Timmins and District Hospital on Monday, January 25, 2021 at the age of 88 years. Beloved mother of Marcel (Suzanne) Mageau. Cherished grandmother of Trevor Anderson, Marc Monette (Christine), Crystal Ouellette and many great grandchildren. Also left to mourn are long time friends Linda Blais Carriere (Marcel) whom she thought of as a daughter, Michel Gosselin (Denise Ann Leblond) and Rita Bolduc, both very close friends. Gaby will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her dear husband Remi in 1968, her son Denis in 1972, her brothers Adrien, Gerard, Rolland, Guy and Jean-Paul and her sisters Antoinnette, Rita, Mariette, Bernadette, Ida and Yvonne.

Gaby worked at St-Mary’s hospital for many years as a custodian. She was then employed with several contractors. She loved and lived life to the fullest. Her passion was camping, fishing and hunting. In her spare time she went to Bingo and loved playing cards, doing word search, knitting and sewing.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Lim, Dr. Chishol, Dr. Paquette, Dr. Parmar, Dr. DiTullio, Dr. Woods, Dr. Paupst and Dr. Li. Also a special thank you to the nurses (who were like angels) on medical B and the emergency department. Thank you to Chrissy in the Hospice unit for all your kind words.

In light of the Covid-19 pandemic, in efforts to protect the public and the family, there will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations to the TDH Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Angels have come to take you home mom, but you will always be in our hearts.
