Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Evelyn Ennis can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

The family announces with great sorrow the passing of our dear mother Evelyn on March 16, 2019 with family by her bedside at the Geraldton District Hospital at the age of 88 years. She will be sadly missed by her children David (Louise) of Onoway, AB and Diane (John) of Geraldton, ON. Loving grandmother of Valerie, Crystal, Nathan, Michael, Sandy, Taffy-Jo, Clifford and Robert. Great grandmother of Justin, Cody, Harley, Dexter, Zoey, Milla, Marcus, Bryana, Seth, Kadin and Nina. Great great grandmother of Caleb. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her sons Billy Ennis (2012) and Randy Ennis (2014), her daughter Christine Ennis (2014) and her grandson Gerry Ennis (2015). Also predeceased by her husband Arthur (1972) and A.J. Valdock (1991), her parents Minto & Lucy McCooeye of Kapuskasing, her sister Geneva Currie (1985) of Toronto and her brother Cy McCooeye (1989) of Sudbury. The family would like to thank Dr. Zufelt for caring for mom and to all the staff at the Geraldton District Hospital for their devoted compassion. A special thank you to Dr. Stephen Cohen of Timmins for being her doctor for 40+ years. Evelyn enjoyed family time and was a devoted wife and mother and taking care of her children. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 25th from 2pm to 3pm. Prayers of remembrance will be held at 3 pm in the visitation room followed by a luncheon in the Miron-Wilson Reception Lounge. Interment will be held at Timmins Memorial Cemetery on Tuesday, March 26th at 11am. Remembrance donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. The funeral arrangements are entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE 150 Balsam St. S. Timmins
