Obituary for Ernest Dupras

Ernest Dupras
DUPRAS, ERNEST “Ernie”
1948-2019

The family announces with heavy hearts his passing at Health Sciences North, Sudbury on Friday, January 11, 2019 at age 70 years. Beloved husband of Ann Dupras (nee Sabourin). Cherished father of Andre Dupras and Michel Dupras (wife Angel) both of Timmins. Dear grandfather of Joseph, Skyler, Melissa, Montanah, Braeden, Chancellor and Rylan. Brother-in-law of Gerry and Nancy Sabourin of Timmins and Linda and Graham Collins of Ottawa. Also survived by his god-daughter Kathrine Landers and god-son Peter Sabourin. Ernie will also be missed by his dear friends and “guitar buddies” Don (Janet) Landers, Art Landers (Kim Brisbois), Mike (Diane) Gosselin and Roger (Jeannine) Bastien as well as his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Valeda Dupras. Ernie was born and raised in Timmins, having worked over 40 years at the Dome Mine. He loved to give to others and will be remembered for volunteering his music talents with his buddies at various locations, facilities and functions throughout the city for many years. As a final gesture giving to others and “paying it forward”, Ernie donated his eyes through the Trillium Foundation so that 4 four people could be given the gift of sight. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 in the Miron-Wilson Funeral Chapel (Msgr Pat Lafleur officiating) with a reception to follow in the funeral home lounge. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, remembrance donations to either the Timmins or South Porcupine Food Bank would be appreciated. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at the
MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME,
CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE,
150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
