The family announces with great sorrow his death at the Extendicare Timmins on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the age of 89 years. Loving husband of Isabelle (nee Provost) of Timmins. Beloved father of Lynn (Rodney) Hummel, Gilles (Denise) Portelance and Brenda (Paul) Desjardins all of Timmins. Cherished grandfather of Matthew, Austin, Christian (Carmela), Brandon, Josée, Danielle, Paul (Sara) and Marc (Danielle). Dear great grandfather of Nicholas and Marco. Predeceased by his brothers Edgar (Edna) and Donald (Pierrette) Portelance and his parents Oscar and Victoria Portelance.

Emile was a carpenter by trade. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time at the cottage where he loved to hunt, fish and go four-wheeling. He was a special man and if you had the pleasure of meeting him, you would certainly never forget him. The family would like to thank the staff at the Extendicare Timmins - Pearl Lake wing for the wonderful care they provided.

A memorial mass will be held on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 2 pm in the St-Dominique Church (Fr. Alexis O’Lenga officiating). Remembrance donations to the Alzheimer’s Society would be greatly appreciated. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until 1:45 pm on Friday, May 3, 2019 at the St-Dominique Church. The funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the
