Obituary for Emidio D'Angelo

Emidio D'Angelo
It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing, with family by his side, of Emidio D’Angelo at the age of 85 at the Timmins and District Hospital on Sunday, December 20, 2020. Emidio is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Rita (Moscardelli). Loving father of Maria Costello (John), Frank (Cecilia) and Richard. Cherished Nonno of Matteo and Paige. Predeceased by his parents Maria and Francesco D’Angelo, his sister Bice Bottiglione, his loving twin sister Teresa Ciarrocca as well as his brother-in-law Domenico Ciarrocca. Survived by his very close friend and brother-in-law Alfonso Colarossi (Teresa). He will be missed by his nieces Umiliata and Marcella and his nephew Mauro from Genova, Italy. He leaves behind his nieces and nephews; Frank Ciarrocca (Julie), Patricia Ciarrocca (Rod), Antonella Dupras (Dale), Carla Robson (Andrew) and their children. Emidio immigrated to Canada on December 16, 1954 from Castel Del Monte, Italy. When Emidio arrived in Canada, he successfully completed training as a Millwright and had a long career in mining, the majority with Texas Gulf / Kidd Creek mines for 30 years. Emidio’s passions were gardening, farming, blueberry and mushroom picking, hunting and fishing. Anytime he could spend in the outdoors with his family and friends brought him great pleasure. Emidio also enjoyed making wine, sausage and homemade prosciutto which he generously shared with everyone. Emidio was a proud member of the Porcupine Dante Club where he enjoyed spending time with friends playing bocce, darts and volunteering his time making sausage for fundraising efforts. He was also a long-time parishioner of Sacred Heart Parish. Emidio was selfless who always thought of others before himself. This was his nature as a young boy in Italy and it carried on throughout his entire life. The family wish to thank the Timmins and District Hospital staff for their compassion and care. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, Remembrance donations to the Sacred Heart Parish or the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. The Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
