Although you don't know me, I had the pleasure and the honour to work with Denis on several occasions when I was with Algoma Business Computers. Whenever I was in trouble with a printer problem, Denis was always there to bail me out. It's not just his work that impressed me it was Denis' devotion to his family. He knew his priorities and that was his family. I remember at times having conversations while working on a printer problem. We talked about him running his own business and how I thought it meant giving up quality time with family due to the demands of making a living. Denis always said his family time was most important to him and the business was the means for him to give all he could to his family. Denis' face would light up when he talked of you and I could see in his eyes that his family was his life. There are several occasions where Denis and I had great talks and what will always stand out is his love for his family. Condolence: I sit here trying to put the words together on how you go about saying good-bye to someone who's been part of your life for as long as you can remember. There are many memories which will be cherished of a dear friend who I could always count on to work on my vehicles with me. Trips to Cowboy Lake and forever getting stuck. Fishing with "special lures" (here fishy fishy). Driving to school in a beat up van which had more smoke on the inside than the outside and squealing tires in the Senator Parking Lot. Driving to Cochrane in record time in the wrong lane. Four wheeling from Keefer to Timmins. "Fishnet" stockings or runner's stockings as Denis called them. Cottage visits, 50's theme night; friendly chats, pork & beans w/wieners are all fond memories. Most recently, being there for support following my accident. When I was at Sunnybrook, Denis was there. Arriving at the airport, Denis was there. Within a couple of days being home, you and Denis were there again. I am forever grateful for our most recent night out at East Side Mario's. They say that everything happens for a reason. Why Denis was taken away from us so young I'll never understand but I thank God that however short his life was, he was part of our life and with memories, he will live on in our hearts. Please know Lise & Zakk that we will always be here for you and look forward to many more good times together. We know that Denis will be smiling down on us. We love you with all our hearts. Condolence: Lise and Zakk. I used to be a religious person, followed my faith by going to church and doing the best I could to be a good Catholic. When I got older(much older) I became very cynical about religion because of all the hurt and suffering I saw, wondering why god would take people away from my life for no logical reason. When he took Denis it just made me that much more cynical and angry. I guess what I'm trying to say to you is there was no reason for god to take Denis away so soon. We will miss him greatly. I will miss our great conversations. He always corrected me with his knowledge of "The game". We are better people having had Denis in our lives. Friends forever......
