Obituary for Colombe Beland

Colombe Beland
On May 9th, 2023, surrounded by family, Colombe Beland in North Bay, ON passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Beloved wife of 41 years to Omer Beland (2011) and dear mother of Chantal (Steve Szydlik) of North Bay and Andre (Tammy Gilson) of Orillia.

Loving Memine, Memere and Grand-mere of 4 grandchildren - Joshua, Drew, Zachary and Erick. Also survived by her siblings Danielle (Tom Witty), Louise (Bill Harding), Michel Corbeil (Louisette Gendreau), Raymonde Corbeil (Rob Norman), Nicole Larocque and Denise Nayler (Tim McCoy). Predeceased by her parents Jean Marie (John) and Helene Larocque (Cusson) and her sister Lisette Major (Corbeil).

If you had the privilege of knowing Colombe, you were blessed to have been met with a smile that would light up a room and someone that was always happy to see you. She loved to eat, laugh, go on road trips and spend time with family and friends. A true entrepreneur at heart, she owned several businesses. To name a few, the Pop Shoppe, Maranatha Christian Bookstore and her own interior decorating services. She was the consummate hostess and loved to entertain and cook. Can someone say creative and crafty? From flower arranging, crocheting, watercolor painting and everything in between she had a knack for it all! Above all else, Colombe had a deep faith and was a devoted follower of Jesus. She was a prayer warrior for family and loved ones and always trusted her savior in all aspects of her life. She was a strong woman with a big heart, and she will be sadly missed.

A visitation will be held at Laurentian Wesleyan Church, Saturday June 3rd from 1-2 pm, until the time of the funeral service at 2 pm. The funeral service can be viewed online via this link: www.laurentianchurch.com

A special thank you to Colombe’s care team in the CCU at the North Bay Regional Health Centre and to Pastor Jason McCutcheon for this spiritual counsel and much needed presence.

Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in memory of Colombe, will be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
