Obituary for Bonnie Spylo

Bonnie Spylo
Spylo, Bonnie (nee Johnstone)
February 21, 1947 – February 23, 2023
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie Daphne Patricia Spylo on Thursday February 23, 2023. Surrounded by family, she died peacefully at her home after a short battle with cancer.
Bonnie was born in Timmins and is survived by her husband Gordon and her sons Michael (Kim) and David and predeceased by Gordie in 1993. She is survived by one sibling, Joan Clermont (Robert) and predeceased by four siblings Mike Fortais (Ola), Bill Johnstone (Janet), Judy Dipinto (Brian) and Earl Johnstone (Diana). She is also survived by numerous loving cousins, nieces, nephews, best friends (BFFs) and loyal fury friends.
She was an extraordinary grandmother to seven grandchildren, Russell (Emily), Benjamin, Samantha, Jaden, Griffin, Morgan and Mollie.
Her knowledge, kindness, warmth and empathy were always apparent, and she was a guiding light and example to many. She was an important part of Mountjoy United Church and Project LOVE. She was past president of the horticultural society of Timmins. She was an avid scrapbooker and gardener with exceptional culinary, sewing and wood crafting skills.
Our heartfelt thanks goes out to Liz Feldman (Bayshore Nursing), Marnie Chisholm (Nurse Practioner), Dr. Griffiths, the PSWs from Care Partners, the staff at Timmins District Hospital, the staff at the Sudbury Cancer Centre at Health Sciences North, Dr. Shehata, Dr. Singh and Dr. Manchuk, for their professional care.
Death ends a life, it doesn’t end a relationship.
A visitation will be held at Miron Wilson Funeral Home (150 Balsam Street, Timmins) on Feb 28, 2023 from 10:00-11:45 am. followed by a funeral service at Mountjoy United Church (202 Mountjoy St. S., Timmins.) at 12:00 pm.
