Obituary for Barbara "Jane" Rowe (MacDonald)

Barbara "Jane" Rowe (MacDonald)
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Jane Rowe at the Timmins and District Hospital on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the age of 88 years. Beloved wife of Lorne Rowe, mother to JoAnn Rowe, Elodie Tichinoff and Thomas Rowe, and grandmother to Alex, Joey, David, Sam, and Hailey-Jane. Across 68 years of laughter, joy, and marriage Jane and Lorne explored the world together, travelling Canada, the US, the Caribbean, and Europe. Together Jane and Lorne shared a lifetime of summers with family and friends at their cottages on Ice Chest Lake (1967-1991), Barber's Bay (1992-2013), camping at Kettle Lakes (2014-2020), and around the backyard campfire. Jane loved to swim, garden, sail, and paddle. She did it her way and with flair. She used to put lipstick on to go to the dump! Jane was a star at everything she did. After raising a family, Jane completed her high school diploma and went on to serve on numerous provincial boards, including the Chartered Accountants Board, Parole Board and Film Review Board. She was devoted to her community, a member of the Keyettes and May Court Club and was a lifelong supporter of the Timmins Symphony Orchestra. The birds are still gathering at her feeder out the kitchen window. Her heart, wit, and grace will be missed. The family wishes to thank Dr. Gillies and the 2nd floor staff at the Timmins and District Hospital for the care Jane received. Remembrance donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. A visitation and reception to celebrate Jane’s life will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 from 11am to 2pm at the Miron-Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME,Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
