Obituary for Anna Cepuran

Anna Cepuran
Anna Cepuran - passed away peacefully after a short and courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, April 5, 2020. She accepted her final challenge with the grace, courage and dignity that guided her throughout her life. Always reminding her children that she beat breast cancer three times, but now was “her time”. She was grateful for the opportunity to celebrate her 85th
birthday with her family and friends a few weeks ago.

Born February 23, 1935 in Bosiljevo, Croatia, Annie came to Canada in 1956 and quickly made Schumacher her home but never forgot her Croatian heritage and humble beginning.

Annie was most loved by Joe with whom she is now reunited. Adored mother of Carl (Gail), Edward (Mary Jo) and Kathy (Marc). Baba/Grandma was so proud of her grandchildren, Derek, Karen (Richard), Stefanie (Gianmarco), Kaitlyn and Matthew. She is survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada and Croatia. Annie is predeceased by her parents Drago and Marica Liposcak, her sisters, Dragica Rendulic and Manda Gorsic and brothers, Drago and Adolf Liposcak. Annie will be missed by so many people in our community. She took the greatest pride in her time spent at Koza’s and Carriage Trade as a talented seamstress. She became friends to many people.

Annie will be remembered with a phone in her hand, a smile on her face and genuine zest for life. We will all miss her cooking, especially her cabbage rolls, apple strudel and perogies. Her hands were able to create many meals for families around our city and this brought her great joy. Her generous spirit toward others will be remembered. If someone came to get their pants hemmed, they often left with a dozen perogies and some apple strudel, along with their clothing. To honour Annie, the family asks that you do something kind for others during this time.

Gratitude extended to the angels who walk amongst us. Thank you to everyone who took the time to call Annie and pray for Annie over the last week. She felt your love. Special thanks to Chrissy Barbuto who brought so much comfort to Annie’s final hours. Her care and compassion was exceptional. Dr. Karen Armstrong and Dr. Paul Armstrong who went above and beyond their call of duty. We will never forget you. Thank you. We are deeply grateful and blessed.

A private family service has been held. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when we can hug and be with one another again. We hope that you will attend and we can give our Mom the tribute that is so well deserved.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Timmins and District Hospital Oncology Department will be appreciated by the family. Interment at Timmins Memorial Cemetery. The funeral arrangements are entrusted with the MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, CREMATION AND RECEPTION CENTRE, 150 Balsam St. S.
