Obituary for Anita Côté

Anita Côté
Côté, Anita (née Pagé)
1934-2022
In loving memory of Anita Côté (née Pagé) who passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov 21, 2022 at the age of 88. Loving wife of the late Fernand Côté (2007). Caring mother of Marc (Marg Duncan) of Timmins and Daniel of Sudbury. Grandmother of Leisha (Richard Dematos) of London, and great-grandmother of Angela and Riley. Anita is predeceased by her ten sisters: Lorraine (Larry Fournier), Gertrude, Lilyan (Omer Bazinet), Lucille (Jean Laflamme), Estelle, Léona (Roger Mineault), Yolande, Mona (Julien Bergeron), Claudette (Jacques Fortin), and Claire. Anita also cherished her many nieces and nephews. Anita was born on February 22, 1934, in Timmins and worked for many years at the City of Timmins, first as a clerk in Mountjoy Township, and in later years as the Mayor’s secretary. She loved camping, and especially memorable were adventures at Kettle Lakes, the family’s visit to Expo 67, and the mountains of the Western Rockies. She also traveled to many countries around the world. Anita was an avid Bridge player. She also loved public speaking as a member of the ITC club. Having taken painting lessons at La Ronde, we now cherish her artwork in our homes. She also loved attending concerts by the Timmins Symphony and by Francophone artists. Anita is now reunited with her husband, her parents, and her ten sisters, and we know they’re already chatting up a storm, playing cards, and singing some great tunes together. Many thanks to the staff on the Bigwater unit at Extendicare Timmins for their dedication and care for mom over the past eight years. Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Timmins-Porcupine District. The family will receive visitors on Friday, November 25, 2022, from 10 until 11:45 am, followed by a funeral service at 12 noon in the Chapel of MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins.
