Obituary for Albert Walsh

Albert Walsh
Albert, passed peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday March 19, 2023. Albert was a giant among men. A superhero to his children. A loving partner to his wife. A fierce protector of his brothers and sisters. A hockey coach and mentor to many young athletes. Albert lived the values of family, loyalty, responsibility, hard work and courage. He created a safe space within his presence for those he loved and cared for. No one was ever left behind. No one ever had to guess what he was thinking. As a First Responder, he fearlessly dedicated his life to the Fire Service, a respected leader, Fire Chief, Arson Investigator and Professor. A grandpa, who could outlast, and outplay and carry all of the grandkids under one arm across the finish line. Albert's spirit had left his body behind many years ago, in order to watch over every one of us. He is now finally free, and back in the arms of the love of his life. Albert was predeceased by wife Donna in 2021 and his son David (Trina) in 2007, his parents Simon and Victoria, siblings, Kim, Victor, Howard and Billy. He is survived by his devoted daughter and caretaker Linda, and his loving sons Ken (Cathy), and Don (Angela), by his brothers Simon (Marlene), Dennis (Cindy), and Brian (Rachel), and his sisters Diane Hebert (Jean-Paul), Marjorie Deering (John), Barbara Demers (Yvon), Holly Morissette (Brian), Debbie Opper (Richard), Brenda Dube (Yvon), Sheryna Brousseau (Rene) , and Tina Walsh. His memory will be cherished by his grandchildren, Jonathan, Megan (Jordan), Michael, Brandon, Tiana, Carly, William, Albert, Seth, Abbey and Molly. Great grandfather to 15. The family would like to extend their thanks to the nurses and staff at Extendicare for their loving support. In respect to Albert's wishes, cremation was held and there will be no visitation or service. A private interment for Donna and Albert will be scheduled at a later date. Albert had a special place in his heart for the Stan Fowler Santa Claus Fund. The family will graciously accept donations in lieu of flowers. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to MIRON-WILSON FUNERAL HOME, Cremation and Reception Centre, 150 Balsam St. S., Timmins. To make online donations or condolences, please visit www.mironwilson.com
